Franklin County Farm Bureau Association - The Voice of Agriculture
We know when people hear ‘Farm Bureau” many think about insurance and farmers, but there’s so much more Farm Bureau has to offer. As a member, you not only help support the farmers and ranchers who grow and raise your food, your membership also provides leadership opportunities, educational programs, community events and scholarships for students to ensure the future of our great state. The board of directors meet monthly to set the course for the Association in Franklin County. The pillars we are built upon are: Education, Advocacy and Service.
We support education! We host an Ag Ambassador program and award $4000 in scholarships annually to local students. We bring hands-on lessons on wheat to each 3rd grade classroom in the county through our Bread in a Bag program. We bring over 300 students out to Sylvester Farm each Fall for them to experience agriculture in person for our Day on the Farm event.
We provide service! We support the Food Policy Council by collecting non-perishable food items each November to help alleviate food insecurity in Franklin County. And in March of 2023, we rallied volunteers and financial donations to package 12,000 meals for our neighbors in need! We also purchase livestock from 4-H youth each summer and donate the protein to a local food pantry.
We are advocates! We are the Voice of Agriculture to the legislature, Congress and the general public. We will educate when needed, protect when challenged and fight for our members to strengthen rural families and to build strong, prosperous agricultural communities.
